As far as I can see it seems the Titanium backup app is the easiest way to go with a rooted phone
Now I dont think anybody really needs to worry about voiding the warranty on their phone by rooting it nowadays
JUST DO IT RIGHT!
Obviously you get FULL backup of EVERYTHING on your phone this way not just drf, so you backup really important stuff too....like Zombie Highway.....
The best info I found on installing and running the Titanium app AND how to root your phone was at this site
http://www.howtogeek.com/70715/how-to-b ... um-backup/
On here you will also find a link to xda development forums which is an absolute must to find out how to root your device
It has the LATEST instructions
All you need to is punch in the search bar "how to root my xxxxxxxxx(your device)
It will give you the best guide on how to do it
Then follow the rest of the howtogeek guide and you should be all set
I guess the question is, does it work?
Well it did for me(droid3) but you obviously need to put some thought and effort into it and be prepared to spend at least an hour to get it done right
Hope this helps somebody............
